Chief Master Sergeant David Wright

Chief Master Sergeant David L. Wright is the independent Group Superintendent of 655 Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Group as an Air Reserve Technician. As Superintendent, he is the senior enlisted leader of more than 800 highly specialized Air Reserve Technicians, Active Reservists, Traditional Reservists, and civilian Airmen at the Group and its 11 Intelligence Squadrons located across the nation. Chief Wright advises the commander on issues affecting the assignment, training, utilization, readiness, professional development, and quality of life of all enlisted personnel. He assists in overseeing an annual budget of $26 million and his units have an economic impact of nearly $52 million to their surrounding communities.

Prior to coming to 655 ISR Group, Chief Wright served as the Superintendent of Intelligence for the 910 Airlift Wing and the First Sergeant for the 773 Airlift Squadron. He has an extensive military leadership background of more than 20 years, to include: supervisor, analyst, and instructor positions with fighter and airlift squadrons, Strategic Reconnaissance and Joint Intelligence Wings, NATO, DIA, United States Army Reserves, Joint Task Force, and RPA Mission Intelligence Coordinator. He has served overseas in Europe, Honduras, Panama, and Puerto Rico, and deployed in support of Operations DESERT STORM, IRAQI FREEDOM, and DEEPWATER HORIZON.

Chief Wright is originally from Dayton, Ohio and graduated from Middletown High School. He continued to pursue his education while on active duty, graduating from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and Gannon University. Chief Wright has been a professional educator for more than 15 years as a former adjunct faculty member with DIAC, and as a Business and Computer Technology teacher with the Perry Public Schools District in Ohio, where he was designated by Microsoft as a Certified Microsoft Office Master Instructor. He and his wife Sheri have three children and reside in Chardon, Ohio.
