Erin R. O’Brien joined the Wright State Research Institute (WSRI) in March 2015, as the Director of Training for the Advanced Technical Intelligence Center (ATIC), and the Wright State University Aerospace Professional Development Center (APDC).
Erin O’Brien’s background includes twenty years as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force. Ms. Moran held a variety of leadership positions in the personnel and training career fields at the squadron, wing, Headquarters Air Force, and Joint Staff levels, including overseas assignments in Germany and the Republic of South Korea.
Utilizing her extensive instructional design expertise for the past five years she served as a technical training manager for a defense contractor and the federal government at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. While serving at NASIC, she designed and implemented numerous innovative training programs for entry-level and senior intelligence analysts, managed a $1.2M training budget, and created a competitive scholarship program to meet the organization’s strategic mission needs.
Erin is a native of Dayton, Ohio, having earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Mathematics Education, from Wright State University on scholarship through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program. She earned an M.S. in Educational Administration from the University of Central Oklahoma while stationed at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma in 1991.
Erin is married to Gary O’Brien, and has four children who are in grade school, high school, and college, as part of her blended family.
